The Rooms Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador unites the Archives, Art Gallery and Museum of Canada’s easternmost province, as well as three Regional Museums. It was established to collect, preserve, present and make available for research the historic artifacts, natural history specimens and archival records that represent and illustrate the significant history, culture and natural heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador. Its natural history collections include geology and paleontology material going back to the Precambrian, as well as botany and zoology specimens from coastal to high elevation regions of the taiga and tundra biomes of eastern North America, and marine ecosystems of the northwestern Atlantic.
