The E.L. Reed Herbarium at Texas Tech University (Institution Code: TTC) houses over 20,000 vascular plants and bryophytes. Established by E.L. Reed and R.A Studhalter in 1925 at what was then Texas Technological College, the Herbarium has collections of plants from the West Texas, Llano Estacado, South Plains regions of Texas. The Herbarium is the official repository for plant specimens collected at the Guadalupe Mountains National Park (GUMO). Its collection includes over 3000 specimens collected from 1973-1976 by Burgess, Northington, and Green during a botanical survey of GUMO soon after it first became a National Park. Digitization of TTC began in 2017 and continued as part of the Digitizing America's Crossroads grant to the Texas and Oklahoma Regional Consortium of Herbaria (TORCH).
