The Margaret H. Fulford herbarium holds approximately 127,000 specimens of vascular plants, bryophytes, fungi, lichens, and wood samples. The collection is rich in the Flora of Ohio and surrounding states but also has global representation, including a large number of Latin American liverworts, the research focus of the founder of CINC, Margaret H. Fulford. Much of the local material was collected by pioneering plant ecologist E. Lucy Braun, a long-term member of the U. of Cincinnati faculty.
