The University of Saskatchewan, located in Saskatoon, is one of the top research-intensive, medical doctoral universities in Canada, and is home to world-leading research in areas of global importance, such as water and food security and infectious diseases. The university houses the W. P. Fraser (SASK) herbarium and is developing a comprehensive scientifically-based collection and data-base of native and introduced plants representative of the flora of Saskatchewan. Our institution has the most extensive taxonomic, geographical and historical representation of all native and naturalized vascular plant species occurring in this province consisting of a collection of 180,000 specimens spanning 125 years.
