The Ohio Wesleyan University Museum of Natural History is among the oldest natural history collections in Ohio, dating to 1847. The museum houses a rich collection of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, plants, fossils, and a wide range of invertebrates, including insects, crustaceans, and coral. Specimens are used for research, teaching, and exhibition. The mission of the Museum is to preserve, protect, grow, and share OWU’s natural history collection, while training undergraduate students in museum curatorial skills and science outreach.
