Fundación Herpetológica Gustavo Orcés

Description

The Gustavo Orcés Herpetological Foundation, FHGO by its acronym in Spanish, is a non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) created on June 5, 1989, under Ministerial Agreement No. 258 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. In 2009, it was registered with the Ministry of the Environment, which has regulated the organization ever since.

The creation of this FHGO arises from the need for a legally constituted Ecuadorian organization to dedicate itself to the study of amphibians and reptiles, responding to an urgent need to compile the little or non-existent information on this type of fauna and disseminate it.
