The aim of the scientific work carried out in the Centre is to develop new varieties and hybrids, which are competitive, adapted to different climatic conditions of the Republic, high productive, immune, endowed with fruits high quality indicators, satisfying the demand of processing industries, to produce required quantity of high reproductions seeds, as well as to develop new technologies for vegetable crops cultivation and processing. Numerous varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops have been developed in the Scientific Centre and released. The seed genetic bank of the Center stores under the medium and long term conditions seed accessions of traditional and modern varieties, perspective lines, hybrids and parental forms of vegetable crops, which are a strategic repository and at the same time serves as an initial breeding material.
