Kostrzyca Forest Gene Bank, Poland (KFGB) extends its forestry conservation efforts by creating DNA and tissue bank of rare and endangered plant species. Since 2017 KFGB has gathered genetic material of 225 plants representing a wide range of taxonomic coverage (50 families, 133 genera, 5403 tissue samples, 1128 DNAs). Herbarium collection is utilized to provide additional resources in future genetic analysis such as DNA barcoding. The goal of this project is to make KFGB's collection fully accessible to other researchers by integrating tissue and DNA samples, their associated voucher information and specimen images within the GGBN portal, following the GGBN and BOLD Systems standards.
