Our team is made up of experienced and young researchers armed with high level taxonomic knowledge and skills in studying aquatic macroinvertebrates. In addition to general biodiversity studies within and beyond the borders of Hungary, we are targeting stream invertebrate communities, especially those in intermittent streams. We also pay special attention to protected or invasive species: our goals are to understand various aspects of their occurrence, dispersal, life history and reproduction cycle and the roles of the governing factors behind. We strive to apply the latest methods: integrative taxonomy, DNA (meta)barcoding, as well as experiments performed in our indoor flume laboratory under a fully controlled environment. For more, contact us via e-mail or meet us at SEFS or CESAMIR.
