The University of Udine's Department of Agricultural, Food, Environmental and Animal Sciences (DI4A), in partnership with the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional authorities in northeastern Italy, established an innovative wildlife monitoring and surveillance regional network called InfoFaunaFVG.
InfoFaunaFVG is a state-of-the-art progressive web application (PWA) that features a WebDatabase and a WebGIS system https://doi.org/10.1007/s10344-023-01664-4).
Since its inception in 2019, InfoFaunaFVG has enabled the record of reliable, precise, and verifiable data concerning wildlife, particularly on debilitated, compromised, or deceased animals.
This web-based platform has gained widespread adoption by around 300 users, including veterinarians, forestry guards, veterinary technicians, and specialized animal rescue personnel representing 16 diverse institutions.
