The Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo (Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo, MZUSP) is a world reference center for research in various branches of zoology. Its first scientific collections date back to the late 19th century and currently include more than 12 million specimens of extant and fossil taxa. The MZUSP has some of the largest zoological collections in the Global South and the largest collection of Neotropical animals on the planet.
