The Department of Botany at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is an academic and research-based institution situated in the arid zone (Cholistan Desert) at the coordinates 29.3981° N, 71.6908° E. Enrolled students at post-graduate level (MS, PhD) are provided the opportunity to conduct research to explore the biodiversity and catalog the records after comprehensive surveys as part of ongoing research at the Botany department.
