Amgueddfa Cymru (founded in 1905 as the National Museum of Wales) houses natural history collections comprising more than 3.5 million specimens. These include the largest and most comprehensive collections of Welsh geology, zoology and botany in the world, charting evolutionary and environmental change over 700 million years.
Amgueddfa Cymru’s scientists undertake internationally-recognised research disseminated via peer-reviewed papers and other media. The museum engages directly with diverse groups and communities, using its collections and exhibitions to involve people in science and discovery.
