The Oswego Herbarium (OSW) at the State University of New York at Oswego is comprised of approximately 40,000 specimens with global distribution, dating from the early 1800s through the present. The greatest coverage is from upstate New York and the Lake Ontario region. The collection includes primarily vascular plants with a small bryophyte collection. The primary purpose of the collection is for research, although OSW also includes a smaller teaching collection. A significant portion of this collection is the orphaned Syracuse University Herbarium.
