The Mission Museum has been open since 1931 with a collection presentation that since then has barely been altered. It houses an natural history and ethnographical collection of objects, collected by missionaries of the SVD order from the mission countries that they were stationed. Within the natural history collection mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, insects, butterflies and plant specimens can be found, all collected before 1931.
The museum is working on digitizing the collection and publicizing the records online, to make them globally accessible. This would also allow researchers around the world to become familiar with the collection, which could lead to scientific research.
