To co-ordinate and encourage wildlife recording in Orkney, working with partners.
To establish and manage an Orkney biological records centre.
To facilitate the transfer of data to and from National Recording schemes and other relevant groups.
To join with Regional and National Biological Recording Centres when these bodies are in place.
To ensure that Orkney Wildlife records are easily accessible to the recorders and the public and to act as an information channel for enquirers and users of wildlife data (within the limits of any agreed confidentiality).
To maintain a directory of local specialists and recorders, liaising with Orkney Field Club Committee.
To co-operate on joint ventures such as publications (annual reports etc), publicity and special projects.
