The Data Terra Research Institute aims to develop and operate a distributed digital infrastructure of data and services to observe, understand and predict in an integrated manner the history, functioning and evolution of the Earth system. It offers scientific communities, as well as public and private stakeholders, standardized, interoperable thematic products and digital services based on multi-source data (satellites, in situ, soils, experimentation, modeling) to discover, access, process, visualize, model and cross-reference data to address interdisciplinary scientific issues and societal challenges. Data Terra is based on five thematic centers and cross-functional systems. Its services, designed according to the FAIR principles, integrate on-demand processing and multi-domain approaches, relying on networked and distributed computing resources across the national territory.
