The Instituto de Investigaciones Botánicas y Zoológicas Prof. Rafael M. Moscoso (IIBZ) is a research unit attached to the Facultad de Ciencias of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD). The institute focuses on research on the biodiversity of the Dominican Republic and the island of Hispaniola. It houses the first Dominican herbarium (USD), with some 10,000 specimens collected since 1910. The zoological collections include about 40,000 specimens (terrestrial and aquatic mollusks, insects, arachnids and fish). There is a small collection of fossil mollusks from the Miocene.

El Instituto de Investigaciones Botánicas y Zoológicas Prof. Rafael M. Moscoso es una unidad de investigación adscrita a la Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo.

El instituto se enfoca en investigación sobre la biodiversidad de la República Dominicana y de la isla Hispaniola. Alberga el primer herbario dominicano (USD), con unos 10 000 ejemplares colectados desde 1910. Las colecciones zoológicas incluyen cerca de 40 000 ejemplares (moluscos terrestres y acuáticos, insectos, arácnidos y peces). Hay una pequeña colección de moluscos fósiles del Mioceno.
