Public descriptionTogether with the neighboring Czech Podyjí National Park, the Thayatal National Park preserves one of the last natural valley landscapes in Central Europe. In a very small area, the Thaya has created habitats and forest types with a surprising diversity. Over 40% of all plant species found in Austria and a large number of endangered animal species, such as the European wildcat, the black stork and the noble crayfish, are at home here.
