AES Dominicana is developing renewable energy generation projects following a strict social and environmental action plan, which seeks to comply with the environmental and social performance standards of the International Finance Corporation. Specifically, under Performance Standard 6 on biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of living natural resources, biodiversity plans have been developed, along with biodiversity offset plans and biodiversity management and monitoring plans in five different projects in the south and northeast regions of the Dominican Republic.

These plans have yielded important information on species inventories and sightings at construction and operational sites, as well as monitoring of relocated individuals in the offset zones. AES Dominicana seeks to publish all this biodiversity information, not only to make information management transparent, but also in the hope that it will be useful for researchers, academic institutions and others interested in the biodiversity conservation of the country and the region.

AES Dominicana esta desarrollando proyectos de generacion de energia renovable siguiendo un estricto plan de accion social y ambiental, el cual busca cumplir con las normas de desempeño ambientales y sociales de la Corporacion Financiera Internacional. De manera especifica, bajo la Norma de Desempeño 6 sobre la conservación de la biodiversidad y gestión sostenible de recursos naturales vivos, se han desarrollado planes de biodiversidad, con planes de compensacion de biodiversidad y planes de manejo y monitoreo de biodiversidad en cinco proyectos distintos en las regiones sur y noreste de la Republica Dominicana.

Estos planes han arrojado informaciones importantes sobre los inventarios de especies y los avistamientos en los sitios de construccion y operacion, asi como de monitoreos de individuos reubicados en las zonas de compensacion. AES Dominicana busca publicar toda esta informacion de biodiversidad, no solo para transparentar el manejo de informacion, sino tambien esperando que esta sea util para investigadores, instituciones academicas y demas interesados por la conservacion de la biodiversidad del pais y la region.
