Public descriptionThe Terrestrial and Freshwater Biodiversity Laboratory (TFBL) is part of the Center for Biodiversity Studies and Conservation (CBSC) of the Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics (PRISM) of Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in Iligan City, Philippines. This research laboratory conducts biodiversity assessment projects of flora and fauna (both vertebrates and invertebrates), in both terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems. Currently, the laboratory conducts multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary research by collaborating with other colleges of MSU-IIT such as the College of Computer Studies and College of Engineering and Technology. In addition, the lab collaborates with other academic institutions (both local and international), government agencies, and non-government organizations to contribute to biodiversity conservation policies, habitat restoration projects, and sustainable natural resources management.
