Programa EcoMar, Inc. is a non-lucrative Dominican scientific and educational institution, constituted by Presidential Decree 943 of September 19, 2001. The institution develops research projects in the lines of education and environmental management, fisheries, ecology and coastal and marine biodiversity, climate change and territorial planning (municipal and regional). Since 2001, implements HISPABIOTA MARINA, a long-term project that is creating the first inventory of the coastal and marine biota from Hispaniola Island (Dominican Republic and Haiti).
