L’UMR LETG a été créée en 1996 par le CNRS pour regrouper les recherches menées en géographie sur différents sites universitaires. Le champ scientifique de l’unité est celui de la géographie de l’environnement. Grâce à son expertise en géographie humaine, géographie physique et géomatique, le programme scientifique de LETG poursuit l’objectif de contribuer aux connaissances relatives aux interactions nature/société par une démarche modélisatrice et intégratrice qui se situe aux interfaces géographiques terre-mer-atmosphère.
