Wangari Maathai Institute, which is an institute of UoN focuses on interdisciplinary training, research and community outreach for sustainable environmental and cultures of peace. This is only possible by working with all departments at UON and thus promote interdisciplinary studies. WMI was established in order to honor the walks and works of Nobel Laureate Prof Wangari Maathai whos work on environmental conservation, peace and governance is globally recognized.
