The Israel Oceanographic and Limnological research is a governmental marine research institute. Its main interests are: studying the oceanography, geology and biology of the eastern Mediterranean, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead sea and the northern gulf of Aqaba. The institute is in charge of major part of the monitoring of the studies water bodies and their storage, including bio-diversity related data.
