Since 2015, Ambá has been conducting continuous mammal surveys in the Sierras de Rocha by setting up camera traps on both its own properties and those of neighbors who grant access. This information is then compiled into spreadsheets that have been analyzed to identify common and rare species, relative richness at different points, etc. Additionally, camera traps are set up in areas frequented by margay to perform individual identification through spot patterns.

Since 2022, reproductive colony surveys of dragon (Xanthopsar flavus) have also been carried out in the Rocha and Maldonado departments, collecting information on their location, reproductive success, and more. Since 2022, properties with wild yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) have also been mapped, recording the location of each specimen along with height and DBH measurements. Ambá also maintains records of the presence of exotic plant species in the Sierras de Rocha, which are monitored.

Since 2023, mammal surveys have been conducted in the Río Uruguay area, in the Río Negro Department, by setting up camera traps on private properties that provide access. This information is also compiled into spreadsheets that have been analyzed to identify common and rare species, relative richness at different points, etc.
