Costa Rica emitió una directriz ministerial (DM-013-2018), en la cual instó a las empresas distribuidoras

eléctricas adoptar medidas así como a reportar anualmente los casos detectados de electrocuciones de fauna silvestre. Desde ese año, el Grupo de Electrificación Sostenible, ha recopilado, analizado y resumido los resultados de dichos reportes. La comisión está integrada por CNFL, JASEC, COOPELESCA, C.A.R, COOPEGUANACASTE, COOPESANTOS, ESPH, ICE, CONAGEBIO, SINAC, SETENA, ARESEP, HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL y Sociedad Civil.
