Fundación Mar Adentro (FMA) is aiming to convert Bosque Pehuén, or the Pehuén Forest, into a territory that would be protected by the Chilean government in the form of a national park or other protected area. Located in the Andean Araucanía region of Chile and currently a privately protected area, FMA needs to publish information about all the species of flora and fauna living in the area of the park to move forward with the government. In addition, based on research programs carried out in Bosque Pehuén, the territory has been thoroughly studied. In 2012, an Environmental Impact Statement was made and in 2014 the Environmental Qualification Resolution for the project was obtained. Through GBIF, FMA will publish information about the biodiversity of the forest, including a list of species living inside it.

Fundación Mar Adentro (FMA) quiere convertir El Bosque Pehuén en un territorio protegido por el gobierno chileno, como parque nacional u otra área protegida. Localizado en la región Aracania Andina de Chile y actualmente protegido de forma privada, FMA tiene que publicar información sobre las especies de flora y fauna que viven en el área del parque para continuar el proceso con el gobierno. Adicionalmente, a partir de programas de investigación realizados en Bosque Pehuén se ha estudiado el territorio de manera exhaustiva. En el año 2012 se actuó una Declaración de Impacto Ambiental y el 2014 se obtuvo la Resolución de Calificación Ambiental para el proyecto. Usando GBIF, GMA publicará la información sobre la biodiversidad del bosque, incluyendo una lista de las especies que viven dentro del bosque.
