The American College, Madurai is an education and research institute based in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a 141 years old prestigious institution found by American missioneries and known for its academic excellence and social relevance. We have been involved in biodiversity related activities since 2010. We have been doing bird surveys in and around our district for the past 10 years. Our department is also involved in the biodiversity related studies on aquatic insects, spider, beetles, butterfly, reptiles, birds and mammals. Even though we are posting regularly on iNaturalist and eBird, we propose to mobilize survey and checklist data through GBIF.
